“Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23 NLT
DAILY. I don’t know what it is about that word but it struck me. That one word tells us that no matter what you go through in life, expect something daily. Rather its loneliness, fears, anxiety or depression, EVERYDAY we are to pick up that burden and carry it to the cross & crucify it right then and there. What do I mean by crucify it? Kill it! Kill it by yelling, screaming, crying, writing or whatever you have to do to get that thing out of you. (You can even hit something if you need to (like a pillow; not a person). One of the best things about God is He knows our tears! Even when you don’t have the words, He still understands everything that you’re saying and feeling right now.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to crucify my flesh today Father. Help me to walk in Your Spirit and be less like me and more like you.
